How does CyclePass save me money?
The value of your chosen CyclePass credit amount is deducted from your pre-tax salary which saves you money on your tax and national insurance contributions, in line with the Cycle to Work scheme. That way, you'll save between 28% and 47%, depending on your salary band.
Do my CyclePass credits expire?
CyclePass credits only expire after 2 years of account inactivity, so you can use your credits at a later stage even if you have not used the app or added new credits to your account for a while.
I have run out of credits in a month. Can I do a once-off top-up?
Yes, you can easily do a once-off top-up of your CyclePass credits at any time in the CyclePass app, as long as your employer allows this.
Can I buy a helmet with CyclePass credits?
Yes, CyclePass credits can be used to buy a helmet from our partners available in-app.
Is CyclePass HMRC-compliant?
CyclePass is a fully HMRC-compliant salary-sacrifice benefit under Section 244 of ITEPA 2003. Employees use part of their gross salary to buy CyclePass credits for e-bike travel only (credits will not allow users to access e-scooters) allowing employees to save up to 47% on their commuting costs. No ownership, no cash alternative – just flexible, tax-free access to e-bikes for everyday commuting through our official partnerships with the UK's leading bike share providers, including Lime, Forest, Santander Cycles, Dott, Voi and Beryl.
