TfL’s Cycle Sundays 2026: How to keep saving the rest of the week

It’s that time again – every Sunday this July, Transport for London (TfL) and Santander Cycles are giving Londoners free rides through their annual “Cycle Sundays” campaign.
It’s a brilliant way to try shared city bikes for the first time with zero commitment or strings attached.
No subscription, no sign up, just a free unlimited 60-minute ride pass every Sunday in July.
But what happens when Sunday’s are over and Monday’s commute rolls around?
That’s where we come in.
CycleSaver is the UK’s first and only HMRC-compliant cycle to work scheme built for bike share, and the exclusive provider of Santander Cycles e-bike subscription.
This exclusive CycleSaver subscription gives users unlimited 60-minute pedal and e-bike rides, free unlocks and no extra e-bike unlock fees – from as little as £17.50 per month depending on your tax band.
Here’s everything you need to know about Cycle Sundays 2026, and how to turn your free Sunday rides into a daily commuting habit.
What is TfL’s Cycle Sundays?
Cycle Sundays is a joint initiative from TfL and Santander Cycles, running every Sunday from 5 to 26 July 2026. Instead of paying the usual £3.50 Day Pass fee, riders can unlock unlimited 60-minute rides for free every Sunday in July.
Each week has its own unique code, which you’ll need to redeem at any Santander Cycles docking station:
| Date | Cycle Sundays Promo Code |
| 12 July 2026 | CYCLEJULY12 |
| 19 July 2026 | CYCLEJULY19 |
| 26 July 2026 | CYCLEJULY26 |
How to redeem your free Cycle Sundays ride
- Download the Santander Cycles app, or head to any Santander Cycles docking station.
- Choose the “day pass” option and enter that week’s unique promo code.
- Unlock your bike and enjoy unlimited 60-minute rides for the rest of the day.
- Repeat every Sunday in July with the relevant week’s code.

And with Santander Cycles’ e-bike subscription (available exclusively through CycleSaver) you can enjoy unlimited 60-minute weekday rides from as little as £17.49 a month.
With the subscription, you’ll get:
- Savings of up to 47% – depending on your tax band
- Unlimited 60-minute pedal and e-bike rides
- Unlimited free unlocks
- No additional unlock costs on e-bike rides
It’s the same simple, flexible riding experience as Cycle Sundays, just available every day of the week, not only in July.
How much can you save with salary sacrifice?
Because the subscription is accessed through salary sacrifice, the cost comes out of your salary before tax and National Insurance are calculated. That means you save on your tax and national insurance contributions, with the exact amount depending on your income tax band.
| Tax Band | Annual Salary | Savings |
| Basic | Less than £50,270 | 28% |
| Higher | More than £50,270 | 42% |
| Additional | More than £125,140 | 47% |
So whether you’re a basic rate or additional rate taxpayer, you’ll pay less for your Santander Cycles e-bike subscription.
